HD Recruitment is a New Zealand-based recruitment agency providing workforce solutions for the real world. 

We specialise in sourcing skilled, reliable staff for the events, civil construction, warehousing, logistics and security sectors. From major infrastructure projects to large-scale stadium events, we deliver labour hire and recruitment services tailored to the unique needs of businesses across both the North and South Islands.

Founded in September 2024, HD Recruitment was built on years of hands-on experience and a strong working relationship between our three founders. Craig Edwards, Cole Taylor and Paul Mackie. The idea originally stemmed from supplying labour to HD Flooring, a successful events flooring company owned by Craig. With Cole’s deep recruitment background and strong industry network, and Paul’s practical knowledge in events and logistics, the business quickly evolved into a nationwide service that now supports a wide range of clients and projects.

The name HD Recruitment is a nod to our roots, a deliberate connection to HD Flooring and its trusted reputation in the events industry. By keeping the “HD” name, we’ve carried that reputation forward while expanding into new industries, building a recruitment company that’s known for reliability, flexibility and personal service.

At the heart of HD Recruitment is a simple mission: To supply high-quality staff that help businesses grow, while also creating safe, supportive environments where our workers can thrive. We care deeply about the people we work with, whether it’s a client needing the right team on site, or a job seeker trying to find their next opportunity. We take the time to understand what each side needs, and we work hard to make the right match. If one candidate isn’t quite right for a specific role, we’ll do our best to find another opportunity that suits them. That’s the kind of ongoing support and responsiveness our clients and crew have come to expect from us.

What sets us apart is our hands-on, relationship-first approach. We don’t just send workers and move on, we turn up for staff introductions, attend interviews, and regularly visit worksites to check in. You’ll often find us at toolbox meetings, stopping by for a coffee, or calling to catch up. We believe recruitment should be personal and dependable, not transactional.

Our leadership team brings a strong mix of business knowledge and real-world industry experience. Craig has spent over 20 years in the events industry and has built several successful companies. Cole has worked in recruitment for more than a decade and knows the civil, logistics and warehousing sectors inside and out. Paul, with his background in logistics and large crew coordination, ensures that operations on the ground run smoothly. Together, we’re a team that thrives under pressure and solves problems fast, no matter how big the job.

One of our proudest achievements to date was delivering crew for five major stadium shows across three weeks, including Travis Scott, two Pearl Jam concerts and three Coldplay events. Our team managed multiple shifts, installed and dismantled thousands of square metres of flooring and hundreds of metres of barrier, and logged thousands of hours! All with zero issues. It’s the kind of job that reflects our capability, commitment and professionalism.

We recruit for permanent, temporary and contract roles, and we’re fully equipped to handle projects of any scale. From short-notice event crew to long-term civil site staff, we have a pool of skilled workers ready to go. We use a mix of word-of-mouth referrals, job ads and social media to source reliable candidates and we’re constantly building and maintaining strong relationships across the country.

Health and safety are a core part of our culture. Every staff member receives our health and safety policy, and we work closely with clients to ensure their H&S plans are followed. We also attend toolbox talks and site meetings to stay in the loop and provide support where it’s needed.
